Musings of Her Bratness

The air is getting crisp and autumn approaches!

So I've been busy doing some mixing for our fall releases....I get really excited when fall hits. It's my favourite time of year...the air gets crisp and redolent with the scents of log fires, ripening apples, dry leaves, and that amazing mossy loamy scent of the earth. As a witch it is also my very favourite and sacred time to recharge my spiritual batteries!!

These are a FEW of the upcoming scents:

Wicked Tavern Latte:
We live in the land of amazing taverns that date back to early British history. It's ingrained in the culture and daily life but it's the 'dark' ones we're talking about here. Seeing dark shadows out of the corner of your eye, cold spots on the way to the loo, and unearthly whispers just beyond your hearing range...you know you heard SOMETHING....but what??
The scent: antique Jamaican buttered rum, freshly ground & dripped coffee swirled with hot frothed milk with a sprinkle of cinnamon and nutmeg. Underneath that sticky swirls of black bonfire toffee & a buttery shortbread biscuit.

Vampyre's Kiss:
Back in the 80's there was this cheeseball horror flick called 'Waxworks' that my gf's and I used to watch.....not because we thought it was great but because there was a vampyre in it we lusted. Ohhhhhhh we used to sit there in shudders of horror and glee when he'd come on the screen. Sexy sexy vamps!
The scent: deep dark forest berries of bramble, black raspberry, wild strawberries & red and black currants are softened by 3 types of vanilla, Merlot wine, and a stab of earthy and exotic amber.

Ye Olde Maple Sugar Bucket:
The early days of Posh Brats saw us working with many many American cottage industries. One produced our famously popular Salem Witchery scents....one of those scents and hands down the most popular was Maple Sugar Bucket. Sadly the company that produced those for us went out of business in the recession. I took it upon myself to recapture that scent and give it an even yummier twist.
The scent: dark amber coloured Vermont maple syrup, fresh creamy butter, even more maple sugar candy, New England molasses, crisp fall leaves, a touch of bonfire cauldron smoke & the antique seasoned cedar wood of buckets used to collect maple syrup for untold generations.

Black Velvet Shroud:
The blackest most sublime velvet covering an antique rosewood coffin...in which lay our sexy vampyre. We know he is only resting until the dark night falls and the air becomes heavy with mist and the sounds of night creatures......when that time comes we'll embrace our dark lover again.
The scent: dark dark dark black chocolate, heady sweet black currants, tangy blood red currants, Bourbon & Madagascar vanillas, smoked spices, loamy black earth & a touch of church incense.

Death By Sunrise:
You've accepted the eternal kiss of your vamp lover and been re-born into a new and brilliant night-time world but you must rest before the first rays of the sun touch the earth or you will be dead by sunrise.
The scent: blood orange, tangerine, syrupy sweet pineapple, golden gateau d'or, black cherries, billows of marshmallow creme, vanilla bean souffle, and rich ripe sexy mango.

Mourning Shadows:
A lone dark caped figure stands in the shadows of a smoking pyre on which his witch lover was put to her tragic death. Grief washes over him and his tears fall as sparkling diamonds onto his pale cheeks.
The scent: Black pomegranate, blood red pomegranate, white funereal blooms, heady violets, 2 types of exotic musks, Cornish honey and a touch of Bourbon vanilla.

Absinthe Cafe:
In the Victorian age absinthe cafes were everywhere the world over. We are visiting any one of the many cafes in Paris with the exotic and heady offering. We cannot promise this is not touched with it's own artistic madness.
The scent: absinthe, wormwood, sacred hyssop, mad English mint, bitter monastic herbs, the dark polished wood of a Parisian cafe table, and a touch of aged parchment.

Fawkes Bonfyre:
Guy Fawkes....."the only man who ever entered parliament with honest intentions...". All joking aside, every 5th of November we in Britain honour 'the Guy'. Huge bonfires spring up everywhere and there is much merry making and setting off of fireworks. I have tried to capture that time in this scent.
The scent: bonfire smoke, blackened wood, ale, hard apple cider, burnt earth, and the rich wheaty scent of threshes fields of grain....all touched with gunpowder & gingerbread cakes.

Hobgoblin:
Hobgoblins are elvish little men often found within human dwellings, doing odd jobs around the house while the family is lost in sleep. Such chores are typically small deeds, like dusting and ironing. Oftentimes, the only compensation necessary in return for these was food. You must keep them happy for they are fond of pranks and tricks and their generosity can turn quickly to bad deeds of you cause offence. Feeding them foods they love should keep you in the good graces.
The scent: Rich custardy pumpkin pie in a spicy gingersnap crust, buttery sweet ribbons of butterscotch, mounds of cinnamon sugar doughnuts, fresh baked bread and a dark sweet sticky toffee pecan pudding.
